"We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty." - Maya Angelou

"Beauty and seduction are nature's tools for survival, because we protect what we fall in love with." - Louie Schwartzberg

"If you're going to house the ultimate ideal, you've gotta build something beautiful that represents its dwelling place. Beauty is the proper dwelling place for an enlightened consciousness. There's almost nothing more valuable than beauty - economically, practically." - Jordan Peterson

"We find beauty in something done well, in virtuoso displays of art." - Denis Dutton, A Darwinian Theory of Beauty (TED-Talk)

"For beauty is nothing but the beginning of terror, which we still are just able to endure, and we are so awed because it serenely disdains to annihilate us. Every angel is terrifying." - Rainer Maria Rilke

"Beauty is but skin-deep, within lies filth and putrefaction." - Thomas Fuller

"Seduction rests solely on the fragility of appearances; it does not belong to the order of nature but to that of artifice; above all it supposes the beauty and perfection of an artifact. Only the object is seductive, and the object is always the feitiço, the sham, the lure. If you've ever lost your direction at the dash of a word or a glance then you know what this perdition means, how you are delivered over to the total illusion of the signs, to the immediate influence of appearances, to go beyond falsehood, into the absolute abyss of artificiality." - Jean Baudrillard
